Kevin Matthew Wong named 2023 Jini Stolk Creative Fellow

The Jini Stolk Creative Fellowship is an annual award that encourages the development of the field of arts management through professional development, research, networking and sharing.

Kevin Matthew Wong, Senior Producer and Artistic Associate with Why Not Theatre, has been awarded the inaugural Jini Stolk Creative Fellowship.

"I'm deeply honoured to be the inaugural Jini Stolk Creative Fellow, and I hope to carry forward Jini's inspiring legacy of research, collaboration, and advocacy,” says Kevin Matthew Wong. “My sincere thanks to all who've made this life-changing award possible for me and for the fellows to come."

Fellowship Overview

  • Who

    The Fellowship is for Toronto-based arts administrators/managers working at small or mid-sized companies. Early to senior managers are eligible.

  • Why

    Arts managers are passionate and committed to their work. The Fellowship provides an opportunity for arts managers to explore, think, develop their expertise and generate new ideas.

  • Goals

    By supporting arts managers and their growth, the Fellowship aims to encourage experimentation, build a Fellowship alumni network and knowledge base, and enhance the arts sector as a whole.

  • Amount

    The Fellowship offers $20,000 over two years ($10,000 each year) to an individual arts manager. A new Fellow will be named annually.

  • Nomination

    Individuals will be nominated by the arts organizations that employ them. Nominations are expected to open in the fall of every year.

  • Management

    The Ontario Arts Foundation manages the endowment that funds the Fellowship.
